Mission Statement:

The Choral Program at Mater Dei High School has become the model program for choral/vocal studies at the high school level having grown to nearly 300 students supported by two choral educators, four voice/coaches and a full-time accompanist/coach.  The Chamber and Bel Canto Choirs continue to receive numerous national awards and are known for their audacious programming.  Recent successes include National Championships in Orlando, New York, and Seattle, and Boston.  In addition to this national recognition, the Choral Program frequently travels internationally, most recently to Spain, having been invited to perform in the breathtaking  La Sagrada Famila.

We believe that students of all cultures and faiths are intrinsically gifted and that vocal music is the greatest example of these gifts.  MD’s Choral program is dedicated to the encouragement of the choral/vocal art as a means of expression and a way to connect communities through the empowerment of the young voice.

In order to help offset rising program costs and provide the full choral experience for all student-artists, we have established the Maestro’s Circle Fund for the benefit of the Choral Program at Mater Dei High School. Our mission is to ensure that each student can have a valuable experience that is both affordable and available in spite of financial circumstances.  Proceeds of the Maestro’s Circle directly benefit our student-artists by assisting with expenses including but not limited to student participation fees, program apparel, equipment and costume rentals, coaching/staff stipends, festival costs, travel expenses, vocal lessons/low-cost supplemental music classes, vocal coach stipends, financial aid and special projects.

Through the enrichment and specialized programs supported by the Maestro’s Circle Fund, we are excited to help our choral students develop higher level thinking and interpersonal skills applicable to all areas of learning and life, preparing them for musical professions and beyond.

Help us continue in our mission to sustain the incredible Choral Program at MDHS
